I am excited to have learned about additional technology resources from Google Earth, Photostory and Video Streaming. I feel I can enhance my ability to implement the curriculum by accessing varoius aspect of the programs. I also hope to engage the students in a PhotoStory L.A. activity.

  2.   Jackie Says:

I learned a little more about Photostory.

I’m hoping to use Photostory either in my classes for a student project.

I would be interested in having a 6th grade SS workshop on a specific unit and work on creating a united streaming video clip assessment.

  3.   Eric R Says:

I love and learned the My assignment part of the United Streaming.
I will try and use the Photostory for Presidential ads.
Good Job to both of you.

  4.   Julie Mandes Says:

I learned that you can use United Streaming to create assignments. I will do this for my students. I am really excited about this feature. I hope that the school district plans to have an all day inservice in the future, dedicated to allowing teachers or curriculum supervisors and teacher leaders to utilize the time to create curriculum-connected technology integrated assignments in all areas using this tool. We know how to use it now. If we could create a bank of these “assigments” it would help us to support the curriculum with technology and support one another.
Betty, I wonder if there is a headphone jack that goes into the computer that allows us to connect two sets of headphones to one computer at the same time so if students are working in pairs, they can both have sound, without using the speaker which will disrupt others in the room. Let me know. Thanks. -Julie

I learned some really good ideas for Social Studies. The use of the globe for geography is an asset for students. Using Photo Story would be a great asset for Language Arts and Social Studies projects.

I would like to try Photo Story so the students can use their creativity in a different media.

  6.   Kim T Says:

I learned some tips for getting better at photostory and google earth.

I would love to make a photostory for back to school night or as a digital yearbook to distribute at the end of the year.

Thanks for all the resources and the opportunity to save some Kidspiration files to my U drive!

  7.   Robyn Says:

Cool websites as usual! I learned some sites to download free, legal music and sounds. I also learned how to utilize Google Earth in Social Studies and I was able to create a slide show through PhotoStory.

I will try to utilize both Google Earth and PhotoStory in my lessons and with student projects.

  8.   Stephanie Says:

Today I learned that using PhotoStory is easier then I thought.

I really want to try using PhotoStory for Back To School Night first to get more familiar with it myself and then try to incorporate it in Social Studies.

As always, a ton of useful information was presented!

  9.   Tracey Rinylo Says:

    1. I learned more about Google Earth and how to incorporate this technology into the classroom. I also learned about Discovery Atlas through United Streaming, which is also another wonderful feature for utilizing and enhancing the Social Studies curriculum.
    2. I will definitely be trying and hoping to successfully implement PhotoStory into the classroom in the area of Social Studies and possibly something else. I thought it would be a fun idea to use PhotoStory as an end of the year project for our 6th graders as they leave elementary school!
    3. Thank you Betty & Toni as always for a wonderful training. I look forward to working with you again soon!

  10.   Carol Houck Says:

I learned more about Google Earth! I will be using Google Earth more in my class this year.
I also learned more about Photo Story. I hope to try to use Photo Story instead of PowerPoint for a student presentation this year.
I hope we can have more time to practice and develop material during school inservice days.
    Thanks!!!!

  11.   David Newman Says:

I enjoyed exploring several new websites and learning more about sites I have already visited. Google Earth has many more features that I have never used before and I will be sure to use them in class; marking, narrating and presenting directly in googleearth.
As much as I enjoyed exploring, I feel I need a cheatsheet or something else in print to help me find my way.
Thank you for all your help.

  12.   Mark Says:

Leaving this workshop, I was really excited to learn how to create an assignment using United Streaming. I hope to use this activity in one of my Social Studies units in the upcoming year. I’m currently working on this website and look forward to finishing the assignment. I just wish I had more time to complete it!
I was also happy to learn how to create my own background images to use with Photostory. What a great way to make an assignment even more authentic! Thank you for a wonderful workshop. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a workshop in which teachers can start and finish an assignment, then possibly share their work with the other members in the workshop? This would be great social networking of activities and assignments.
